Celebrating the Life of a Much Loved; Husband, Father, Son, Brother, Grandpa, Friend and Colleague...

Thank you for visiting our Much Loved Tribute.

One reason for creating this site was for people who knew Daddy to share any; stories, thoughts, funny anecdotes, or photographs you have of him.  If you're happy to share them, we'll certainly be delighted to read them!

As you may have heard we're in the process of planing a celebration of his life, for which we now have a confirmed date.  It will take place at 2 pm on Saturday 22nd June, and will be held at Christ Church Ottershaw.

Additionally, I would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone who sent cards and letters of sympathy, we were overwhelmed by the sheer number we received, thank you on behalf of my mother, Loveday, my brother, David, and myself, Rebecca xxx

Thoughts

Was thinking of Mr Ellis today, he was a consultant when I started my nurse training in the 1980's. He made everyone feel part of the team and was always happy to answer any questions anyone had. I still to this day tell people what a fabulous team lead and team player his is and did in fact contact him a few years ago to say hello. Went on line to see what he was up to now and so sad to hear of his passing.

Brian, your soul was bursting with kindness, generosity and compassion. Every time I met you you were always genuinely interested in what was going on in my life and I used to love just sitting and chatting to you - hearing and learning about your passions to help others, your vast knowledge of many interesting aspects of life - you were a charming wonderful man who will be forever loved, always missed but never forgotten. You had a fabulous way of making everyone feel so welcome in your home, as such Graylands always felt so homely and full of love. I have many special memories spent at your home with your family, whether it be soaking up the tranquility of your stunning garden, relaxing in the hot tub with a glass of champagne or sitting around the table in the conservatory, I always had such a wonderful time. Thank you! Your soul will live on eternally through your beautiful family who you guided and taught well. You have bequeathed to them a beautiful spirit. I am so grateful to have known you Brian and I feel blessed to have my life touched by your amazing family whose friendship I hold so close to my heart. You can rest peacefully Brian, you grabbed life and lived it well with authenticity and integrity, we all wish we had more time, you will be truly missed. Thank you for all that you where.

He is gone – a poem by David Harkins You can shed tears that he is gone Or you can smile because he has lived You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back Or you can open your eyes and see all that he has left Your heart can be empty because you can’t see him Or you can be full of the love that you shared You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday You can remember him and only that he is gone Or you can cherish his memory and let it live on You can cry and close your mind, be empty and turn your back Or you can do what he would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on.
